Cats need lots of space to run around and play. If they don’t get it, they could end up with a host of health problems like obesity, diabetes, etc. and turn your lovely home into a torn apart demolition zone.
As cat owners, it can be very frustrating to live with cats when you only have a little bit of living space. Sometimes this happens because you are forced to move into a smaller apartment or maybe you just prefer living in a smaller home (less cleaning ftw! 🙂 ).
Just the other day some friends of mine were having a yard sale because they were moving from their big country home and yard to a much smaller, city apartment. Life happens but the important thing is that we give our cats what they need regardless of our situations.
So whatever your case may be, if you live in a small place, you won’t have any space for a huge cat tree yet you need something that is sturdy that can handle your cat’s daily banter.
In this post, I’ll be showing you the best cat tree for small apartments so that you can give your kitty what s/he needs without taking up too much space.
The Best Type of Cat Tree for Small Apartments
The good thing about cats is that you can increase their overall space by adding vertical structures like cat trees. So in essence, even though you can’t increase the size of your apartment, you sort of can in your cat’s eyes.
In order to do this, you will not be using a traditional standing cat tree but instead, you should install a wall-mounted cat tree.
Doing this will not take up any space in your apartment and it will give your cat a place to climb, play, lay, scratch and do all those things that cats love to do. In addition, wall-mounted cat trees can be customized to your liking and good ones won’t look like ‘cat trees’ at all.
Wall mounted cat trees are really awesome because they are so versatile and come in so many different forms. Here is a quick video of some super cat owners that utilize these structures to their fullest potential.
Cat Shelves
Cat shelves are basically platforms that your cat uses to jump from one height to the next. They are not stand-alone structures but instead are grouped together in intricate patterns across your wall.
Cat shelves can also be used to hold things for your cat like their food and water bowls. Some are even designed with slots for each.
Scratching surfaces are essential when you have cats. They will need to file their nails and stretching is a big part of cat culture.
If you don’t have one of these they WILL do some serious damage to your furniture, drywall, appliances and even you!
They come in many sizes but the best one to have is the tallest pole you can find. That’s because many cats love to shimmy up tall structures and this will present them with the ultimate opportunity.
Walkways
Even though cats love to jump, they’re not going to hop around all over the place like a frog. So it is important to have pathways where they can walk or lay on.
These do not have to be complicated. All you need is something as simple as one board or piece of fabric connecting two shelves/platforms together.
The Best Cat Tree For A Small Apartment
I’m sure by now, you’re probably wondering about how stable wall mounted cat trees are and if your cat will be safe when using it.
While I can’t speak for all wall mounted cat tree brands, I can assure you that the one I’m going to show you is sturdy and firmly fastens onto the wall keeping your cat safe.
I hope that this information has helped. If you have any questions comments or other feedback, please leave them in the comments box below and I’ll be happy to connect or answer your questions.
Do you have any cool recommendations for cat trees for small apartments? I’d like to hear them.
Besides the obvious size differences, large cats are more energetic and stronger than the average cat. Some are crossbred with wild cats which make them a lot more active and curious.
Regardless of their origin, though, they have a strong need to be as high as possible. In order to get them to the heights they crave without your fridge, stove hood or TV stand precariously in the mix (not to mention the valuables you rest there) you will need to provide them with high spaces where they feel safe and comfortable.
That’s why we’ve taken the time to put together this list of the best cat condos for large cats of 2018. Your cat will need specialized condos that are made for their heavier weight, stronger activity and their seemingly unquenchable thirst to be up high.
To be clear about the difference between cat condos and other cat furniture, cat condos have at least one condo on it whereas some other types of cat furniture do not have them.
How To Choose The Best Cat Condos For Large Cats
In order to choose the best cat condo for your cat, there are a couple of things you should know first. Failing to have this information can leave you with a cat tree that will break or fall which can lead to serious accidents.
The most important quality you need to look for in your large cat’s future cat condo is sturdiness and durability.
This means that the cat tree is built with solid wood and well-balanced. It will stand firm to your cat’s roughest play times and last through the constant claw battering.
If the listing doesn’t say what type of board the cat condo is made with you can pretty much assume it is constructed with pressed wood. Pressed wood is what most cat trees are made of.
It’s flimsy, cheap and some studies suggest that the binding agents they use in these boards can be toxic to your everyone in your household. Also, these cat trees wobble and topple from normal cat play so they are definitely not what you are looking for.
Once you have established that the cat condo is sturdy, the next thing you need to think about is the perching preference of your cat. By this, we mean where does your cat like to observe.
Up high? Mid-air? or on the ground?
Whichever their preferences may be, make sure the condo has perches at that level. Usually, large cats like to perch up high because it gives them a good vantage point and also a safe resting place where most things can’t get them.
On the same topic, the cat condo should have enough perches for your cat to jump down comfortably. There should also be a way that your cat can jump straight up if s/he wants to do that instead.
The last thing to consider is scratching areas. These should be high enough for your cat to fully extend its body, front legs included.
It should have vertical and horizontal areas to do so. The scratching medium changes for each.
For vertical scratching, make sure the cat condo has good quality, unoiled, natural sisal rope. It should also be thick so that your cat doesn’t cut right through it.
For horizontal scratching, the material is typically carpet. Cats love the feel of sinking their paws into it as you may have noticed them doing on yours.
Now that you know how to choose the best cat condo for your large cat, let’s have a look at our top 10 list 🙂
Cat Climbing Structure’s 10 Best Cat Condos For Large Cats
1. Armarkat Jungle Gym Cat Condo
If you’re looking for an affordable cat condo for large cats that is both tall and sturdy then this is the one for you. It is built with compressed wood which is not quite as sturdy as solid wood but it will do the trick for a temporary fix.
Another reason I can tell you this is because it has a huge weight limit of 60 lbs! That’s enough to get two large cats on this thing although it may not be as equipped for that in other areas.
Some other features you will love about this cat condo are:
It is very cat-friendly. Having two ramps means that any cat at any age can easily access even the highest point of the tree. That might not be as important for kittens but for seniors, it is a big deal because they will likely be unable to jump up anymore.
It is really tall. Large cats want to be up high and this tree gets them up 74 inches which is just over 6 ft. That is plenty of height for your cat to feel safe and secure from any threats while resting too.
The covering is tasteful and soft. Your cat will love the feel of it and you will love that it doesn’t clash with anything in your room because of its neutral color.
This cat condo is a really great option for your large cat. If you want to learn more about it, click the button below.
If your cat likes to sleep high off the ground, this cat condo is for you. It not only has one but two different condos at different levels, both being off the ground.
So your cat will be able to rest easy, knowing it is safely tucked away out of sight. It also has a couple of high tower perches where your cat can observe from.
Its design also makes your room work, no matter how big or small, by fitting into the corner of your room. That means that it will save space which is especially great for you if you live in a small home, apartment, condo, or other small living space.
It also means that the tree has a little extra from the walls with support. For even more security, you can easily fasten this unit to the wall with a couple of angle brackets and screws.

3. CozyCatFurniture Extra Large Cat Tower Activity Center
There’s no doubt about it! Your cat will love you 10 times more when you bring a little slice of wilderness into your living room with this cat condo.
Not only is it styled to be wild but it is also designed to feed your cat’s wild instincts. So whether your cat wants to climb, sleep, stalk, lounge mid-air, observe, etc. it can do it from where ever it wants to on this tree.
Another thing your cat will enjoy about this tree is the many things that it can use to interact with its instincts. Look closely and you’ll notice that some of the vines are ropes, scratching surfaces, or other toys.
This will keep your cat busy and active. And a busy, active cat is a happy cat who’s paws and claws will stay away from and off of other places they shouldn’t be.
If you want to learn more about this tree and what others are saying about it too, you can click the button below.
This picture does not do any justice to show you how grand this tree is. Standing at a massive height of 7 feet, your cat will no doubt enjoy the high vantage point it can obtain with this cat condo.
As equally stunning about this tree is the fine attention to detail including:
the skillful craftsmanship to make it look like an actual tree
the skillful craftsmanship to make it look like it is a tree reaching through the sky and the clouds
ascending to the pagoda (Asian temple) up in the clouds theme
Oh yes, did we mention that this cat tree is handmade? If you are like us and enjoy supporting our fellow Americans, then you will love to know that this tree is fully assembled and handmade here in the USA.
You will also enjoy that it comes to you fully assembled so you won’t have to spend any of your precious time and energy putting this massive cat condo together. Just remember to have a game plan on how you’ll fit it through your front door 🙂

If you’re looking for a cat condo that is super soft, super cozy and super sturdy, then this one is for you. The pillows, beds, and carpeting on this unit are all super soft.
Not only are they soft but they are huge! That means your big kitty will have lots of room to get comfortable whether it wants to just chill and look around or sleep.
Its also built to last a lifetime. All covering is reinforced to make sure that it stays in place no matter what tears happen under your cat’s onslaught.
The sisal rope is natural, unoiled and super thick and the plush carpeting is very high quality.
This unit also comes with a variety of color alternatives like black sisal or carpeting, which we think looks better and you might like it also but what we are showing here is the standard version.
For whatever reason, this brand separates all their colors as separate listings and make no mention that there are color variations.
If you want to see more black variations and find out more about this cat condo, you can click the button below.
This cat condo is a mischievous cat’s dream tree! The reason we say this is because of the tunnel at the top. Just look at it!
Your cat will have a good time playing in the tunnel, sticking its arms through the peaking hole to see what it feels. It could be another cat or even you!
You will also have fun with this as a playful interaction between you and your cat. This will help you bond closer to your cat and it is a really great way to destress believe it or not.
There are also lots of high and low places for your cat to sit and observe its surroundings. Be sure to put it on an outer wall of your home instead of the center of the floor and it will be an excellent addition for your furry baby.

Have you gone through this entire list wishing for a different color than the same old neutral colors? If you are looking for something different this might be an option for you to try!
Since a lot of cat condos for large cats are handmade and don’t sell nearly as fast as the cheap cat trees, they tend to be neutrally colored. This last cat condo is a chance at something different.
It is a fully black tree. At first, we were on the fence about the idea but have since come to love it.
The velvety color will still blend in with your roomscape while adding a special flare to it at the same time. It is also pretty unique to have a black cat tree.

Unique Cat Trees and Towers Reviewed
As you can see this list includes:
5 cat trees
5 cat tree towers
4 cat tree houses
The difference between a tree and a tower is that a tree has different parts whereas a tower is one unit that builds pretty in line with itself.
Since these are unique cat trees, some of them are structured a little differently. This means that some of the features might not fit into our regular categories.
We’ll adjust as necessary but I just thought I’d give you a heads up. 🙂
5 Unique Cat Trees Your Cat Will Die To Have
1. CatastrophiCreations Deluxe Cat Playplace
Wall mounted cat trees have become the new standard among cat trees. Your cat will not only enjoy being on the outer wall of the room but you will also have a beautiful, unique piece of wall art.
These are so easy to customize and make your own, especially if you’re creative and know what you’re doing with lines and measurements. I’m this way with recipes, just glance at it and then do my thing, lol!
But even if you’re not a freestyler, just follow the instructions which CatastrophiCreations make super easy peasy!
You can also get attachments or other models like this one that adds wall mounted jumping posts (adjacent to the wall aka stands away from the wall like a shelf just that its a post wrapped in sisal), scratching posts (tall parallel to the wall), and platforms. If you are looking for something really standouts that you can make fully your own, this wall mounted cat tree kit system is for you!

I love the fact that this tree is designed and crafted to look just like a tree. Your cat will love the feel of the carpet under its paws and you will love this cat-friendly addition to your home decor.
Think about it. Instead of a real plant, you have this tree that looks almost like something out of a storybook!
If you have kids, this will be a winner with them, their friends and their friends’ parents for sure! And if you’re a story-teller, you can even use this as a prop, in the dark, with your flashlight. OOOooooohhhhhh, lol.

This one looks kind of standard until you realize how it is different. Do you see it?
Its all in the condo! Its got this teardrop shape going on that I love and is completely different from every other cat condo out there.
Also, the half brown half white color scheme is separated even in the floorboard. The alternation between sisal rope and carpet on the scratching posts will ensure that your cats won’t get bored of their scratching materials.
That means they’ll stay far away from your beautiful furniture and other decorations. And being it is just under 50 inches, it gives your cat a pretty decent altitude to have a good view of the surroundings too.
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 19.5 in (50 cm) x 15.75 in (40 cm) x 47.75 in (117 cm)

Toys Included: Yes, a ball
Structure Material: Particle board
Covering Material: 100% polyester plush fabric
Type of Cats This Is For: Average sized adult cats
When it comes to functionality and feeding your cat’s instinct, this tree is AWESOME! You can’t get any closer to nature than bringing in a piece of furniture that mimics it to the T.
You cat will definitely enjoy being hidden in the leaves and you will enjoy having a plant in the house that doesn’t need to be cared for. Of course that’s because it’s fake but no one needs to know that right? 😉
Where this tree fails is sturdiness. It is made of flimsy particle board and splinters pretty easily when your cat decides to play on it.
Seeing as that’s what these trees are for, that makes it a sort of impracticle buy but its still a unique piece of furniture none the less.
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 26 in (66 cm) x 26 in (66 cm) x 60 in (153 cm)
Levels: 4
Towers: 1
Condos: 0 but the tree leaves provide plenty of cover for your cat!
Ramps: 0
Toys Included: No
Structure Material: particle board
Covering Material: artificial turf, silk leaves
Type of Cats This Is For: Average to small adult cats. Definitely not for large cats but we have another similar option for large cats so keep reading 😉
We know our cats like it when we bring the outdoors inside but if you do too this unique cat tree is a beautiful choice. It is also a good alternative to the previous one if you have a large breed or overweight cat because it is more sturdily built though you may still have to fasten it to the wall for added stability.
The design of this is also one of a kind and awesome. It has stairs for older cats and kittens to access when needed and I love how it has this ancient Mayan temple/tomb feel going on with it.
Like walking through the Amazon without actually being there worrying about being attack by a jaguar or some random bug or parasite. It really reminds me of the setting in that movie…umm..(one sec while I boggle some people’s memory banks since mine is failing atm and Google search for it)…Ah! Congo!
Ok, maybe it’s in Africa but the feel is the same. You get the picture 😉
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 46 in (117 cm) x 25 in (64 cm) x 78 in (199 cm)

Toys Included: Yes, ball
Structure Material: wood
Covering Material: soft plush
Type of Cats This Is For: All cats and kittens but be careful with kittens on the higher levels
As soon as I laid eyes on this delicious piece of cat architecture I was in love! The side scratching post is a great addition but it also adds that extra pop of color without being to bold outlined by the dark frame.
I also love the shaped cutouts. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into designing and creating this tree.
I can see it in an open space with shiny tiles and a minimalist theme. But of course it will go with pretty much everything because it is neutral.
Your cat will also love it also because it has extra scratching surfaces which are missing in a lot of modern styled cat trees. This one’s a winner because it suits yours and your cat’s tastes purrrrfectly :3
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 48 in (122 cm) x 23 in (59 cm) x 16.5 in (42 cm)

This is one of the most distinct cat trees on our list. It is modernly styled and built sort of like a puzzle or maze.
It will definitely work your cats curiosity and instinctual senses to the max. At the same time it makes a BEAUTIFUL addition to your room.
Like a piece of wooden artwork, this cat tower is sure to get you lots of compliments and stun your guests, especially those who appreciate a good piece of art!
The best thing is that you can change it up and fit the pieces together any way you want. If you get a couple sets, you can really go crazy even mixing the different colors and we know your cat will enjoy the height as well!

When it comes to modern styled cat trees, this is one of my favorites because its so skillfully crafted and you can tell a LOT of time has been put into these units. But I also like that it takes your cat’s needs into consideration which is something that is missing in a lot of modern pieces.
This one has the condo, platforms, and decent scratching materials for your cat. The color is gorgeous and since it is made of solid wood, it stands firmly.
Your cat will love this as much as you do!
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 20 in (51 cm) x 20 in (51 cm) x 69 in (175.5 cm)
When I look at this one, I think of a fair which gives me good feelings. When your cat sees this, it will have good feelings too.
The whole thing is built with solid, unfinished wood. That means that you can either leave it plain or if you want to express your own creativity then you can paint it or stain it whatever color or combination of colors you want.
Just make sure that if you do get creative that you use cat-safe materials and chemicals.

This tree house is another tree that is designed to look like a tree. I love this one because it looks like a fantasy tree that you would expect to find at Hogwarts or some fantasy place like that.
And underneath the draw of this tree is everything your cat needs and LOTS of scratching surfaces, angles and materials.
If you’re a fantasy or sci-fi fan, this tree is definitely a good fit for your home!

Structure Material: solid wood
Covering Material: plush household grad carpet and unoiled sisal rope
Type of Cats This Is For: All adult cats including large breeds and overweight cats

This cat playhouse is super cute. It is like a little gingerbread house with different colors.
Maybe its because the white outlines remind me of frosting. What do you think? 🙂
I love that this one has a ramp so that older cats and kittens can enjoy this tree to. At only 36 inches, it is also safe for kittens to play on as well as adult cats.
This playhouse is definitely a good all-purpose cat tree which would be a good addition for you if you have varying aged cats.
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 24 in (61 cm) x 18 in (46 cm) x 36 in (92 cm)
In case you’re wondering, a pagoda is one of those huge, tiered temples commonly associated with ancient East Asian cultures like China and Japan.
This little cat tree definitely captures the essence of a pagoda. If you’re into anime, K-dramas or other aspects of Asian cultures like me and my family, this tree is a good fit for you!
The only thing I wish they would add was more tiers to the actual pagoda but then it is a ‘mini’ version after all 😉
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 20 in (51 cm) x 20 in (51 cm) x 33 in (84 cm)
Not that I planned it but it seems that I have started and ended this segment with a wall mounted cat tree, haha! This one is a little different because it hangs on the door for your cats to climb.
It is designed like a set of tier condos and perfect for your cat to get in a good exercise. Not sure if it will solve any scratching issues but I wouldn’t suggest using this as a standalone cat tree either.
It is, however, super cute and something your cats are sure to love!
Specs:
Size (L x W x H): 23 in (59 cm) x 16 in (41 cm) x 65 in (165 cm)

Structure Material: technically nothing unless you count the straps. It’s collapsible and foldable for easy storage.

When it comes to kittens, buying them the right furniture can be tricky for two reasons:
Kittens are frail but still need much of the same exposures as adult cats like climbing, scratching and jumping.
Kittens won’t stay small for long and it can seem like buying furniture for a short period of time is a waste of money.
The latter being a poor excuse because the best cat trees for kittens will also be useful to them as adults. Stay away from the flimsy, cute crap that is meant to be a literal money sink and purchase sturdy, functional structures that your kitten is more likely to use.
In addition, you should be adding MORE pieces as your cat grows and to start collecting cat furniture from when they are kittens makes the financial requirements less burdensome.
Cat Climbing Structure’s 5 Best Cat Trees for Kittens
This is one of our top recommendations because of the unique style of the condo. It has plenty of space for your kitten to hide, play and still interact with the outside undercover.
The platforms are situated close together for easy climbing and under 5 ft tall, this cat tree is low enough where you do not have to worry about it suffering from an unexpected fall.
The extra scratching surfaces are also a plus because not only will your kitten be able to scratch them but it will also be able to climb or shimmy up them.
If you have multiple kittens, this is a great option because there is plenty of room for them to play and it can suitably hold multiple kittens.

This cat tree is perfect for single or multiple kitten homes. It is a couple inches over 5 ft but that’s not enough to cause concern.
Your kitten will get plenty of stimulation while dashing up and down the ramp and back and forth through the tunnel. There is plenty of relaxing areas in and out of site so your kitten won’t feel exposed.
The poles are covered in sisal rope which is excellent for scratching and shimmying up. They will be so busy using this tree that they’ll forget about the couch arm.

Your kitten will enjoy the softness and comfort of this cat tree. It is rare that any product receives 5 out of 5 stars overall but this one does out of 185 reviewers!
This is a good cat tree for your kitten because it features a ramp that leads to not only one but two large condos. It also has protective barriers on the platform beds which will protect your kittens from falling while rolling around whether in play or in sleep.
It is also sturdy and safe for your kitten being made out of CARB certified board which means in plain terms that the board doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals like some other manufactured versions.

Structure Material: pressed wood
Covering Material: Plastic leaves

Rank: 4 out of 5 stars
Although this is partially plastic, this tree is a really nice concept. It is literally a tree.
Its a shame the leaves are plastic but I’m not sure there are any other options other than real leaves that won’t survive your cat’s battery.
The platforms are hidden within the tree and your kitten will have a taste of nature as it safely climbs from one level to the other. It is suitable to hold 32 lbs so it can hold multiple kittens at once.
Another plus about this is that if you are concerned about a clunky cat tree ruining the aesthetics of your space, this cat tree will blend right in as part of the decor! 😉
If you like the cuter things in life this is a good one for you that is also a great option for your kitten. I mean, one of the platforms are shaped and decorated to look like a kitten paw. How cute is that?!
In addition, it makes use of the ramp as a scratching post which means that you can be pretty sure its climbable.
The downside about this cat tree is that there isn’t much hiding places for your kitten as some of the others we’ve shown you prior so it might feel a little exposed. But your kitten will be playing a lot more than the average cat so that’s not quite a deal breaker in this instance.
It’s easy to assume that your tiny ball of fur doesn’t need much besides a ball of yarn. While a ball of yarn is a great interactive tool for you and your kitten to play with together, it will not fulfill all of your kitten’s needs.
Remember that most development in any animal happens when it is young. For this reason, it is especially important for you to expose your cat to climb, scratch and jump.
This allows it to practice the hunting motions that its body is driven to perform even if it never actually hunts a day in its life.
Getting your kitten a cat tree will help its musculoskeletal system to develop properly by exposing it to getting a good workout on a properly equipped cat tree.
Many people think that it is ok for their cats to get their workout on household items. This common practice is impractical and dangerous.
First of all, your cat’s claws are not suited for materials other than wood like concrete and other slippery surfaces. In addition, your cat can cause an accident by unintentionally turning on a switch like the one to your stove top.
This creates a potentially harmful situation as it can lead to a house fire. Take my word for it because this has happened to me. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Get your kitten and cats the right climbing structures for the betterment of your entire household.
What To Look For in the Best Cat Trees for Kittens?
As I eluded to in the intro, there are tons of options when it comes to kitten climbing structures most of which are complete garbage. This is because they are flimsy but also because they don’t meet any or most of your kitten’s needs.
I don’t know about you but in my mind, the best way to spend money is to get the MOST out of my money instead of buying cheap which leads to even more money spending over time.
So before we get into our recommendations, I want to let you know why we have chosen these and what you need to look for if you decide to go rogue and keep searching on your own.
The Best Cat Trees For Your Kittens Must Fit Its Needs & Habits
Just like an adult cat, kittens have their own set of needs, habits, and preferences that must be met in order for them to develop into healthy adults.
For instance, kittens love to play and in particular climb. They have razor sharp claws that do not retract until they are a couple of months old.
Kittens enjoy shimmying up poles but would prefer to stay closer to the ground as they have not yet developed enough skills to handle heights.
The New Cat Condos Premier Triple Cat Perch is just as it suggests. It is a small perch for your cats to lounge on and maybe look out the window at the scenery.
It features three levels that are stacked, staggered in receding length similar to stairs. So the lower level is provided shelter by the upper level as well.
This also works in reverse as a safety net of sorts for your cat if it rolls off the edge of one of the upper-level beds.
This tree is great for multiple cats as well as older cats because there are plenty of beds to share and the tree is sturdy with barriers to keep a frail cat safe. Some also say that it is great for large breed cats although the beds are a little on the small side.

New Cat Condos Premiere Triple Cat Perch Summary
“Though she be small, she is also mighty!” – not sure but I know I’ve heard it somewhere before (haha!). Although this tree is among the smaller models of cat furniture, it is jammed packed with all the basics your cat needs to thrive. It includes:
The only thing really missing is toys which you can add pretty inexpensively and if you wanted to attach them to the tree all you need is some string.
It comes fully assembled and is made here in the USA.
This cat tree is made of solid wood and comes covered in high-quality carpet in a number of shades including:
beige
brown
blue
green
gray
The scratching posts are covered with carpet and unoiled (untreated) sisal rope.
This is a high quality tree that your cat will enjoy and you can rest assured that they and everyone else if your home will be safe from physical and chemical damages.
Benefits of Using the New Cat Condos Triple Cat Perch
NCC Triple Cat Perch Is Versatile Beyond Measure
One of the things you will really enjoy about this tree is how well it will adapt to your unique situation. It is a good option for families (yes, family even if it’s just you and kitty it counts! 😉 )that:
are always on the move
have limited space such as an apartment, condo or small house
have senior cats
have cats with mobility issues
have multiple cats
have large cats
The tree itself is just 33 in (83.82 cm) which makes it compact enough to fit into most vehicles being roughly about the height of a small child. In the same way, you can squeeze it in pretty easily in small spaces if you lack space which can seem pretty elusive even in the biggest of areas.
The stair step design makes ascending and descending so much easier and safer for cats that may struggle with this task like elderly cats or ones with joint problems such as arthritis. At the same time, it gives any other cat a nice little runway to dash up and down maybe to a window or over a taller piece of cat furniture.
The multiple layers give plenty of room for multiple cats to chill out or hide out and although I don’t have personal experience with large breed cats (at the time of this writing), many people rave about how their large cats, including Maine Coons, enjoy this tree as well.
New Cat Condos Premiere Triple Cat Perch Health Benefits
This tree also benefits your cat’s and household’s health since it is made of solid wood and untreated sisal rope. This means that it is not composed of harsh chemicals like formaldehyde that can be found in popular construction materials such as compressed wood.
Although this is a hotly debated topic, you should be concerned about the materials that compose your cat’s furniture just as much as any other structure in your home.
Formaldehyde alone can cause a whole host of problems including but not limited to:
watery eyes
burning sensations in your nose, eyes and/or throat
wheezing
linked to some cancers
Of course, manufacturers of compressed wood claim that ‘most’ of the formaldehyde cloud has dissipated by the time it reaches your home but get this. It takes as little as 0.1 ppm (particles per million) to achieve the above effects according to the National Cancer Institute.
In other words, even though ‘most’ of the cloud has dissipated, the ‘little’ that is left can cause some serious problems!
And I don’t know about you but I have felt the random burning sensations and been like what in the world is going on? I hadn’t eaten anything spicy, sour…I was well hydrated…you ever check yourself like that and just can’t figure out what is going on?
You never do because it is the unseen that is likely causing the issue here!
So do yourself, cat(s) and family justice by getting a good quality, chemical-free tree that’s made in the motherland (if you’re in the USA that is ^^;\)
How To Use This Piece of Cat Furniture
Since it comes fully assembled, there isn’t much to do to it aside from taking it out of the box and placing it in the desired location in your home. Some prime locations your cat will enjoy it are:
in front of a window with a nice outside view of trees, birds, etc.
beside the couch or chair you frequently sit
beside your bed or where you tend to sleep
near or at your cat’s favorite spot to lounge and take cat naps
Since the carpet is extra plush it might need to be vacuumed when you first take it out of the package. This is nothing to do with the tree.
If you are experienced with new plush carpet, it just has fuzzies or pieces that come out and you don’t want your cat to choke on them.

What Type of Cat Is The NCC Triple Cat Perch For?
This tree is for cats that like to lounge a lot. It is also good for cats who are old and or have issues navigating heights.
It is big and sturdy enough to hold a large 20lb cat but shallow enough for a 19-year-old cat to ascend with no issue. (pics are in the review comments of Amazon)
Adult cats will also enjoy flying up and down the steps although we still recommend that you add additional climbing structures for them to play on.
What We Like About The NCC Triple Cat Perch
sturdy
made of high-quality material
reasonably priced
versatile
blends in easily with the home decor and environment
safe for everyone in your home both structurally and chemically
able to accommodate kittens as well as large and old cats which are all a challenge to find good cat climbing structures for
What We Don’t Like About The NCC Triple Cat Perch
doesn’t have condos for cats that like more protective seclusion
not a stand-alone structure especially if you have adolescent and adult cats in their prime because they will need more exercise than a short burst over a couple steps.
doesn’t come with cat activities like toys, etc.
Our Final Verdict
The New Cat Condos Triple Cat Perch is a well built, easy to install piece of cat furniture. Since you should have multiple cat climbing structures in your home, we do not think that there is an issue with this not being fully equipped with cat toys, condos, etc.
At the end of the day, we do recommend this tree for your cat(s) because it is a super sturdy, comfortable location for them to lounge on. And we ALL know how important that is to the feline lifestyle.

Maine Coon cats can reach weights up to 18 lbs (8.2 kg)+ and lengths of 3 ft (91.4 cm)+ on average so it’s clear that they need sturdier cat climbing structures than the ones designed for ‘typically sized’ cats which are half their size. The Cat Climbing Structures team has tirelessly gone through the multitude of cat trees that claim to be for ‘large cats’.
As you probably guessed, there were many that didn’t stand up to the test but there were a couple of good ones that really stood out. So now we’re going to reveal to you our exclusive list of the 10 best cat trees for Maine Coons.
These trees will also work for other large cat breeds such as Bengal and Savannah cats.
Make sure to watch the video so that you can have an idea of what to expect and also cut down on reading time. Also be sure you don’t miss our mini guide that tells you everything you need to know before deciding on a cat tree for your Maine coon cat.
The last thing we want is for you to get the wrong one that breaks easily and causes a bad accident if it falls on your cat, another pet, your child or even you! Yes, some of us know that by experience so please take our word on it.
How To Choose the Best Cat Trees for Maine Coon Cats
Before you decide on a tree for your Maine coon cat, there are a couple of things you need to consider first. These qualities are non-negotiable and combined, they will ensure that you are choosing a solid tree that will last a very long time.
It goes without saying that the tree must be sturdy. Cheaply made cat furniture will not last under the pressure of your Maine Coon’s weight or strength but it can also pose a big danger as it will undoubtedly topple over.
The cat tree you choose must be:
built with solid wood or comparably strong materials
typically plywood but some other woods include oak, maple and pine
well balanced
able to hold weights over 30 lbs. on all parts
There are two reasons that you want the tree to be constructed from solid wood. The first is obvious in that it will create the most sound structure for the tree.
The second reason is that cats prefer to scratch into natural materials. Though their whole paw won’t reach the wood, having a sturdier foundation under the natural sisal rope or carpeting will feel quite nice and allow your cat to really stretch and apply force on it.
Have you ever stretched on a wall or bench as compared to a bed after exercising? The bench and wall feels better right?
That’s because benches and walls are sturdier structures. It’s the same principle when your cat stretches as well.
The tree must also be well-balanced. Even though it shouldn’t be in the center of your room (I’ll never understand why people do this since cats want to be on the perimeter anyway), you still don’t want it constantly knocking on your wall either.
That will create some serious damage AND leave you with a migraine especially after a long, hard day at work. That’s the LAST thing you want to come home to hear.
There is also the hazards that we mentioned earlier. You want to be sure the tree isn’t going to fall on anyone or anything in your home.
Lastly, you want to be sure the tree can hold at least 50 lbs (30lbs is ok for hammocks since they won’t see as much activity). Many of the trees we recommend have huge weight limits many of which are over 100 lbs.
Remember that weight is measured at rest on these units but the force of that weight increases with movement. And add speed with it, the cat tree that you choose for your Maine coon MUST be able to handle it appropriately.

4. Prestige Cat Trees’ Neutral Staggered Cat Tower Cat Tree
Prestige Cat Trees are made in the USA and super tough. Most of their trees are specifically made for Maine Coons.
Your cat will love this one because there are many varying leveled platforms for it to jump over. It can get in big long leaps or little short bursts or even a mixture or the two.
I’m not a fan of cat trees without condos because most cats like their private time, however, I do like (and your cat will too) that this one has a really tall tower that nothing will reach it and be a pain. Even you depending on your height, haha!
I also like that this is a ‘tower’ design but the platforms allow your cat to have vertical space as well. Your cat will love this tree and the neutral colors will match just about every color scheme so you won’t have to worry about it clashing with your other furniture.
Here’s the breakdown of the Prestige Cat Trees’ Neutral Staggered Cat Tower Cat Tree:
Size (L x W x H): 23 in (59 cm) x 23 in (59 cm) x 71 in (180 cm)
This tree is excellent if you are looking to save space because it is designed to fit in the corner of your room. It will go perfectly in free spaces like the corner by your TV stand that usually isn’t used.
Your cat will also enjoy the many levels and platforms on this tree although some might be a little small for a full-grown Maine coon.
Most importantly though, there are tons of areas for your cat to scratch on both horizontally and vertically. If you’re looking to save even more space, you could try a wall-mounted cat tree.

What People Are Saying on Amazon:

To answer my own question yes, it’s sturdy enough for your 19 pound furbaby. I was wary of this product because of it’s price, it was a little too inexpensive, and after seeing pictures of some horror stories from plush fur, cardboard tube, twine wrapped, monstrosities…as well as my cat being a 19 pound mainecoon, I was honestly worried. But it came, ever so quickly as promised, I opened the box and was pleasantly surprised at the quality! I mean i was expecting the very worst but it was actually a really nice plush fabric, and it was well wrapped coils and was really sturdy after I put it together! i mean i recomend getting adifferent hex key, but if thats my only complaint your golden, overall assembly wise I was quite pleased at how easy it was, I had it together in 30 minutes tops (but I also put together ikea furniture without instructions easily so…). Our cat took to it immediately and loves to get “drive by pets” by pawing out the window of the box for our attention as we pass. Maybe a bad habit to indulge? but it’s pretty adorable. – Kiki Denison
The tree house is spectacular! Not in the slightest bit wobbly, in which with a bit cat like my 18lb MainCoon, Tiger, that is a good thing! – Auntie Caryn

Most cats love to climb by nature. When we bring them into our homes without the proper structures, it can get quite overwhelming as they climb all over everything that they shouldn’t like the stove hood or fridge.
It is also frustrating because they knock things down which can cause even more damage and money. This is why its so important to have the best cat climbing structures for them so that everyone in your home stays safe, including your cat.

I have had a lot of success with cat trees and recommend them to anyone with a cat, regardless of their behavioral patterns though most will jump, climb and scratch all over your home. They give your cat a good workout by enabling them to satisfy their natural desires in a safe, destruction-free way.
This Go Pet Club Cat Tree is near and dear to my heart because it was one of the first cat trees that I ever purchased (Hint: buy online, they’re cheaper than pet stores even on sale) and my cats actually used it.
While there are better options available, I highly recommend this one if you are looking for something inexpensive or just starting to create your indoor cat climbing environment. I ended up giving mine away to a relative in need when I upgraded but understand that you’ve got to start somewhere 🙂
The Go Pet Club is perfect for cats who like to climb. It is a bit taller than most which will give your cat that altitude it desires and needs in order to survey his surroundings effectively.
This tree is great for cats that exhibit tree-dwelling, bush dwelling or a combination of both behavior patterns. The only reason I will not recommend this one for cave dwellers is because the nook areas or cubbies if you want to call them that are not fully enclosed.
I would not recommend this tree for large or extra large cats. For example, a Savannah or an obese cat. Most cats are small to medium-sized though so this stand would be fine for most cats otherwise.
At $86, this tree is excellently priced. The first tree I ever bought came from Petco and cost $150 + tax. That was on sale too btw. Its regular price was close to $200!
And with this one, you don’t lose quality in the price either. The quality is great and can withstand normal playing, jumping, scratching, etc of your average sized cat.
As a tall girl, I like tall things so I can relate to cats on that level also. They like to have a bird’s eye view of everything. At 72 inches, your cat will get that bird’s eye view she craves.
As far as dimensions go, this one’s dimensions are reported with a 50-inch base but that just includes the ladder. The cats don’t really use the ladder so, without it, the base is 28 inches.
The Go Pet Club Cat Tree is square so it has for corners. Each corner has a pillar but only three go all the way up to tall towers that have beds on the top.
There are two cubbies with entering and exit holes on either side and 10 scratching posts. This cat climbing tree was designed for multiple cats.
It is super easy to put together too. There are plastic screws that hold everything together. You just need to make sure that you lock them in place properly.
Something I find really cool is that you can get this tree in blue as well as the neutral, beige color. This is really nice because it makes it blend in more with the room. Like if it’s in your living room area, it blends in with the furniture instead of standing out screaming ‘I’m a cat tree’ lol!
Now don’t get me wrong here, the tree is sturdy and durable. But like I said, that the use of this term is relative to the average sized, domestic cats which are usually under 15 lbs.
If your cat is over 15 lbs, this tree will not work because of the plastic screws. They are not designed to take the force that is created due to the heavier weight.
For example, have you ever played with a small dog compared to a large one? Yeah, there is a big difference right? lol!
Your body is aching after playing with a large dog but not so much after playing with a small one. It’s the same thing here 🙂
If you don’t know, cave-dwelling cats are the ones who like to be totally hidden. You have to literally hunt them down and turn over the bed to find them.
The cubbies in this cat climbing structure are too open for a cat of this nature so he will probably not enjoy it at least for relaxing. Which is a big deal because cats play hard but they also sleep hard too so you want something that will suit this sort of cat better.
Just to recap, this is an Amazon cat tree. It is also eligible for Amazon Prime which basically means that there is no additional shipping charge since it meets the minimum threshold.
It costs $86.99 + tax.
Final Opinion & Verdict of the Go Pet Club Cat Tree
If you are looking for a cat tree, they don’t come much better than this one. It will give your cat her own space in your house that she can relax, play, investigate and scratch up, lol. Even if you have multiple cats, they will each have their own slice of heaven too.
The ramps are really nice for kittens too. They will be able to climb up on it and play since they can’t jump that high yet.
There aren’t many downsides to this unless you have a large cat or one that prefers to be hidden away. If you really wanted to though, for cave-dwelling cats, you could just close up one hole and see if that works. I haven’t tried it so don’t quote me but it seems like a good idea! lol.
My final verdict is 4.5 out of 5!
But don’t take my word for it. There are over 4 thousand reviews on Amazon that you can read about it!
