What People Are Saying on Amazon:

Solid Build Quality

Did some research before I committed buying an Armarkat tower.
Got to say I’m was impressed when I built it. Very strong robust heavy build quality. Compared to others I looked at.
Also replacement parts can be ordered directly from Armarkat, which was another good selling point. As I can just replace individual part extending the life of the tower. instead of buying a completely new tower. – Mgb1984

Excellent quality

Very stable cat tree. Bought this to replace a cheaper brand tree, which lasted about a week before things started breaking/becoming loose. This Armarkat tree is far superior to the old tree. The sisal posts are thicker, as are the screws. –  Stari

This tree is perfect for multi-cat families. It is sturdy and takes up very little space which makes it perfect for any sized space.

It is also well rounded for different cat personalities. The condo has no openings for cats who prefer to stay hidden live cave-dwelling cats while there are beds at its highest points for cats that don’t mind being out in the open.

It is also suitable for large cats although if you have multiple large cats, there are better options further down. Whatever the case, your cats will enjoy many hours playing, scratching and sleeping on this cat tree.

The cats liked it so much we bought another one for the bedroom to keep them off the bed. Also they have not scratched the furniture even once since we bought it! Whooo Hooo! A steal…when purchased from Amazon, rather than a third party vendor. – Helpful Customer

Good Purchase!

My cat loves this thing! It is really tall, so she can get up to get a “birds-eye view”. It was good for the price. – Noelle

3. dibea Cat Tree Scratching Post, XX-Large, 200 cm

cat_climbing_structures_dibea_cat_tree_scratching_post_xxl_large

As the pet parent of multiple cats, you know they don’t like to share, lol. With this tree, they won’t have to. That’s because it has multiple of everything that matters like condos, beds, toys and scratching posts.

I also like the condos because when you have multiple cats, chances are at least one will go into deep hiding. With these condos being so closed, they won’t have to dig deep into your closet to find their hiding place so you hopefully won’t have to search high and low trying to find them!

This tree is sturdy and can handle multiple large cats on it at once.

It also comes in a white variety of colors so you are sure to be able to match it with the color scheme of your personal space.

Size (L x W x H): 21 in (140 cm) x 30 in (75 cm) x 78.75 in (200 cm)

4. SONGMICS Multi-level Large Cat Tree

cat_climbing_structures_SONGMICS_multi_level_large_cat_tree_cat_furniture_cat_play_house_smoky_grey

Like any good tree meant to be shared, this tree has plenty of condos, beds, toys, etc to keep everyone happy. Your cats will enjoy the comfortable plush covering as the relax and play on it.

Again, I like these condos because they are closed which will give your cat the privacy it needs when it wants to get away from the other cat or/and others in the home.

The only downside about this tree is that the beds are not extra large so if you have an above average sized cat, then they may have trouble fitting on it. There are plenty of other options for you though if this is the case.

The dark grey color and light sisal will go well with nearly any color scheme in your home.

Size (L x W x H): 39.5 in (100 cm) x 35.5 in (90 cm) x 65 in (165 cm)

5. TecTake XXL Cat Tree With Scratching Post Activity Center 214 cm

cat_climbing_structures_TecTake_XXL_cat_tree_with_scratching_post_activity_center_214_cm

This tree is H-U-G-E and sturdy. It is like two smaller cat trees put together. This design also gives it better stability much like table legs do for a table.

This tree is quite unique. The plush covering comes in a couple of standard colours like beige but it also comes in pawprint variations as well.

You will also find the rope covering the poles is different as well. Instead of the usual sisal rope, the posts on this tree are covered in coconut fiber rope which is not as strong as sisal. This is sort of a drawback about this tree since larger cats are likely stronger cats but it still does the trick and is easily replaceable should it be damaged.

However, at the same time, if you have multiple large cats, this tree has several large condos for them to share so they won’t be fighting, feeling jealous or anything like that!

Size (L x W x H): 50.4 in (128 cm) x 23.6 in (60 cm) x 84.25 in

As I read your post I was amused as I didn’t think I would find a cat tree for my 6 cats but then I found that there are several to choose from here.
I especially like the tectake one you mentioned.
All that I hope is that they don’t just use it like a scratching post like the last one I bought.
Is there one you would recommend that might prevent this ?

      Hey Karen!

I’m glad you found enjoyment in this article. Wow, 6 cats! That’s awesome!

You know, sometimes it comes down to your cat’s personal preferences but a lot of cat trees are created to sell to humans instead of actually cater to our cats’ needs.

A lot of them are wobbly, smell nasty (and our cats have waayyy more sensitive smell to us so I couldn’t imagine how disgusting these odors smell to them >

These are a nice selection of cat trees. We have 3 different cat trees for our two cats.

My large younger boy cat likes to sit in the window and watch the birds and squirrels. Often he will run from one room to the other in order to try and watch the animals outside.

It is important to have a sturdy tree because when a larger cat jumps quickly, the tree can actually topple over. These selections all seem to be pretty sturdy.

On the other hand, my older girl cat likes to climb nice and high and just nap. She likes the tall tree that we have in our front room. She also enjoys just being up high and watching us.

      Hey Wendy!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us! You are so right, the energy levels vary a lot between younger and older cats which means the needs vary greatly too.

I agree that it is important to have sturdy trees because the last thing we want is for unnecessary accidents to happen.

Your cats sound absolutely adorable Wendy! Keep up the good work caring for them 🙂

    Hi Marlinda

Wow, some of these are amazing, number 5, in particular, is unreal. I’m under strict instructions by the hubby to keep the size to a minimum but these are so cool.

I love number 6 (trust me to like the most expensive one) but our cat is anything but large so I think she might be lost in that one. Thanks for putting this list together, you truly have found some of the most fab looking cat trees I’ve ever seen.

Cats love to be able to survey their territory from above so I find that taller cat trees are preferred by my own two cats. I have two trees, one place near a window overlooking the back garden so they can watch the birds and other wildlife that passes through.

The other is in the darkest corner of another room where they can go to get some peace and have a nap. Cat trees are pretty essential furniture for felines and humans (they cut down on your own furniture being used as a scratching post).

    Hey Marlinda,

Thank you very much for this great overview of cat trees. The selection is really good; much broader than what you would see when you visit a random pet supply store in our area.

We have two tomcats ourselves and I’m sure they would love any one of these. Our current cat tree is getting quite old now, so I’m considering buying a new one!

I LOVE number 5 and number 8. The TecTake XXL looks HUGE and cats can climb and jump around as much as they want, which is awesome, while the Chic Flower-Shaped Cat Tree is very pleasing to the eye. It’s beautiful and the material seems to be high quality!

Thanks for the elaborate review and comparison.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Hi, interesting website you have here. I always want to get my cat a a cat condo or cat tree, but not sure if he would really use it if I did.

I like the chic flower shaped cat tree – I think my furkid will enjoy the sisal part of it as his scratchboard. The petal-like bed areas look great too. Thanks for sharing this!

I was originally looking at the TecTake for my cats, but you’ve provided such great insight on the other options. I’m now really leaning towards the Armarkat shown in the first spot.

I think it’s the one I’m going to go with, what do you think?

My main reasoning is the price, and it’s got a perfect 5 review score on Amazon. But if you have any other suggestions I’d be open to hearing them.

Hey Patrick! The cat tree you get really depends on what your needs are.

If you have multiple cats, I would suggest the TecTake but if you have one cat then the Armarkat tree will be fine.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! 🙂

Look forward to helping you further,

These cat trees are pretty amazing, and I can’t believe all the choices, colors and options you have provided in one handy place.

My cats are crazy, lol.  I have three of them, and they climb my curtains if I don’t provide entertainment, and I swear they get bored with what I do have, so I’m thinking I need to invest in a few more cat trees to keep them interested and off my furniture.

Thanks so much for putting all of this together.  It’s pretty impressive!

      Hey Babsie!

That’s sounds about right! Yes that’s one of the reasons that you need multiple cat trees in your home so that your cats don’t get bored. I mean it’s just like us, when we use the same form of entertainment or watch the same episode of something we get bored so we watch multiple episodes and use multiple forms of entertainment.

I like the Tectake XXL Cat Tree.  The only thing I don’t like about it is the color.  I don’t really feel it will work for my girlfriend’s taste.

Do you know if it comes in any other colors.  The tan is fine, but the brown with white dots I really am not a fan of.  Sorry, I am very picky about furniture even if it’s for cats.

      Hey Garen!

Thanks for your comment and question. No need to be sorry about having your specific tastes and I’m happy to help you find exactly what you’re looking for!

The awesome thing about TECTAKE XXL CAT TREE is that it comes in a wide variety of colors. Although the pattern in the picture is an acquired taste, it also comes in neutral colors like brown and beige!

      Hope this helps 🙂

Wow, this is a fun article! It is amazing all the choices you have in cat trees.

There are all kinds of shapes, sizes and patterns to pick from. My sister has cats and I am sure she would be astounded at these options.

They are so cute too! I love how you carefully lay out all the trees, the sizes and so forth. It definitely makes it easier to see what you are getting as you can compare them.

Thank you for this well thought out piece. I will certainly pass this on to all my friends who have cats.

Thanks for sharing these cat trees with me. I have been browsing and been after one for some time so its good to finally come across a good selection of cat trees that appeal to me.

When I browse while I am looking for quality I am also looking for one that won’t cost me a fortune as I know some are expensive. From first glance I do like the look of the last one called the Kerbel Corner Cat Tree so I’ll have to look more into that one.

    Thanks again,

    Josh

      Hey Joshua!

Thanks for your comment and feedback. I also look for good quality trees that are worth their cost as there are many high priced, poor quality trees in the cat tree space.

Of course, these trees are all good quality and will be awesome for your cats. I’m so happy that you found one that you like. The Kerbel Corner Cat Tree is an awesome option especially if you have a senior cat or looking for good options for small spaces like apartments.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask and I hope your kitty enjoys its new cat tree!

    Hi Marlinda,

An extremely in depth article, I bought a cat tree when I first got my two kittens, they are two years old now but a lot of the sections they are now too big for.

The ones that you have recommended are they suitable for adult cats? As I only have the two cats do you think that the Armarkat Cat Tree, 81 x 69 x 201 cm will be suitable?

    Thanks

    Nathan

      Hey Nathan!

Thanks for your comment and questions!

I can totally relate to your this. The Armarkat Cat Tree that you’re talking about is probably not the best option for multiple cats.

If you scroll down the article some, you’ll see a section that says ‘BEST CAT TREES FOR MULTIPLE CATS IN THE UK’. There you will find my best recommendations.

Of these, my top recommendation would be the ‘SONGMICS MULTI-LEVEL LARGE CAT TREE’ because it has two sheltered locations so that your cats can each have their own space to sleep during nap time.

Its also big enough and includes plenty of platforms, level variance, scratching posts and more that your cats will really be able to enjoy.

      Hope this helps 🙂

Excellent review. I must congratulate you on the effectiveness of the layout and the thoroughness yet simplicity of the analysis. Keep that up, you have a special touch for getting the information across.

We have a couple of cats and in Nicaragua, there aren’t too many cat trees available and the ones that are, are quite expensive for the little you get.

So instead of paying lots of money, my wife decided to build one. So with three small pieces of plywood for platforms, a couple of 3″ cardboard tubes for the towers / support, some think twine to wrap around the tubes to make the scratching posts and a couple of cardboard boxes for the sleeping / condo areas, we made our three platform cat tree.

A DIY cat tree is a great idea… but the results aren’t always what you expect. The base now serves to hold the water bowl, the first platform holds the food bowl, the second platform is a storage box for treats and things, as is the third platform.

The top two platforms sway way too much for the cats to have interest in getting up there. Once was enough, and they could not get down soon enough.

At least they use the scratching posts. Moral of the story, sometimes it’s worth the investment in buying something “professionally made” that works as intended.

That way, instead of your cat getting nauseous swaying on the upper levels and looking for a way to get down, they can snuggle up and have a peaceful nap.

      Hey Mitch!

Thanks for sharing this story with us! It’s interesting that you mention you’re in Nicaragua because at one point a lot of my traffic was coming from there when I focused more on DIY cat trees.

Wow, this totally helps me to understand why. I’ve been so nervous to put up my own cat tree designs that I didn’t really realize how much benefit it could have to so many people all over the world.

Now i feel like I’m doing an injustice by not posting them.

Well my computer died recently so I’m praying that I have it saved on my external hard drive otherwise I’ll have to get it remade. But after reading this I’m going to get more serious about building cat trees because even the ones here aren’t worth the money for the most.

There are only a few brands that I really stand by and I mention them all the time on this site.

Thanks for sharing and take care!
